FAQs
What is an Area Structure Plan?
An Area Structure Plan (ASP) is a statutory (legally binding) document that guides and informs the orderly development of a land area.
The future ASPs will establish a vision for the future of the Hamlets of DeBolt and Ridgevalley, and will inform Greenview’s decisions on future development. An ASP offers a long-range view and lays out critical information to support orderly and efficient future development while considering the feedback and wishes of residents, business owners, and visitors.
Why create an Area Structure Plan?
The creation of an Area Structure Plan (ASP) will allow your community to have clear direction on how it will grow and evolve into the future. The ASPs will provide a framework of compatible uses and create an environment for orderly growth in the Hamlets of DeBolt and Ridgevalley.
Why should I get Involved and stay updated?
Being involved as a local area resident, business owner, or visitor means you bring forward valuable experience and understanding of what matters to you the most in your community. Contributing to the project and staying updated allows the Project Team to ensure your values and insights for your community are captured.
How will my input be used in the preparation of the Area Structure Plans?
Residents of DeBolt and Ridgevalley will have an opportunity to provide their input, be involved in various engagement activities, and collaborate with the Project Team through the Steering Committee and workshops.
Our goal is to work directly with our residents and obtain feedback on your vision, concerns, and aspirations. Your feedback will be used to help shape the land use concept and policies found in the ASPs.
What engagement opportunities will I be able to participate in?
Various engagement opportunities will take place to ensure that we are reaching the greatest number of people. Workshops, Surveys, a Steering Committee, Public Open Houses, and Feedback Forms are some examples of the types of engagements that will be used.
Please refer to this engagement page for updates on engagement events.
