Grande Cache All-Season Resort Advisory Committee

On July 14, 2026, Council passed Bylaw 26-1024, establishing the Grande Cache All-Season Resort Advisory Committee. Its job is to make sure that if a resort is pursued here, it is shaped by people who know this community.

What the Committee does:

  • Finds and evaluates opportunities to attract a private developer to Grande Cache
  • Recommends Crown land near Grande Cache that may suit designation as a resort area
  • Advises Council on strategies, incentives and conditions that could attract development
  • Assesses how a resort could complement existing businesses, tourism operations and infrastructure
  • Engages residents, business owners, tourism operators and Indigenous communities

Who will sit on the Committee?

  • 2 Greenview Councillors
  • 4 members from the local business, tourism and workforce development community
  • 2 representatives of local Indigenous nations or organizations

Supported by two non-voting members of Greenview Administration. The Committee elects its own Chair and Vice-Chair at the first meeting and meets monthly, with extra meetings at the call of the Chair.

Preference for the four community members goes to applicants who own, operate or represent:

  • Hotel
  • Motel
  • Vacation rental
  • Campground or RV park
  • Tour operation
  • Restaurant
  • Business association, chamber of commerce, or workforce or employment organization serving the area.
