Grovedale Area Structure Plan Update Complete
Grovedale Area Structure Plan Update Complete
The Municipal District of Greenview is pleased to announce that the Grovedale Area Structure Plan (ASP) update is now complete.
Originally adopted in 2018, the Grovedale ASP was reviewed and updated in 2025 to ensure the plan continues to support responsible growth, reduce development barriers, and reflect current community needs. The updated ASP provides a clear, long-term framework to guide future residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational development in and around the hamlets of Grovedale and Landry Heights.
Project Purpose and Outcomes
The update focused on:
- Engaging residents, landowners, businesses, and stakeholders in reviewing the existing plan;
- Identifying and addressing development barriers and areas of unnecessary regulatory complexity; and
- Improving clarity around land use, infrastructure planning, and future growth opportunities.
Through public engagement and technical review, the updated plan strengthens alignment with Greenview’s Municipal Development Plan and reinforces a shared vision for sustainable growth, environmental stewardship, and a small-town community character.
What This Means Moving Forward
The completed Grovedale ASP:
- Provides clearer guidance for future development applications;
- Supports economic development while respecting agricultural, environmental, and rural landscapes; and
- Establishes a long-term framework to help ensure development occurs in a coordinated, efficient, and community-focused manner.
Greenview would like to thank all residents, landowners, and stakeholders who took the time to participate and provide feedback throughout the review process. Your input played an important role in shaping the updated plan. For more information, residents are encouraged to view the consolidated Grovedale Area Structure Plan on Greenview’s website.
