Greenview has started working on a new Area Structure Plan (ASP) for two quarter sections of land located approximately 10 kilometres south of Grovedale at the intersection of Highway 40 and Township Road 690.
An ASP provides a long-term vision for a particular portion of land. It lays out types and locations of potential development, supports coordinated and sustainable economic growth, and plans how development will be serviced with utilities. Having an ASP in place ensures that development respects neighbouring property owners and is aligned with the MD’s vision for growth. It also allows growth to be properly managed and occur in a sustainable way.
Project Overview
Greenview is working with a third-party consultant to develop the new Area Structure Plan. The project is anticipated to take place from May to November 2026.
The process will include:
Background research and analysis
Community and interested party engagement
Drafting a land use concept
Drafting policies to support the chosen land use concept
Review and refinement of the plan
Final adoption by Council

Community input will influence what the plan says, what it prioritizes, and how development supports municipal goals of creating a diverse economy.
